How to obtain a recycling bin

If you move into a rented property or an existing residence, then that property will have been allocated a recycling bin. The bin is the property of HRR and should not be removed from the residence once it is vacated. If a bin is missing once you move into a new property then please report that to HRR on free call 1800 838 884.
If you are building a new home and you would like a recycling bin: -

  • Cessnock residents contact Cessnock City Council on 4993 4100
  • Lake Macquarie residents contact Lake Macquarie City Council on 4921 0333
  • Maitland residents contact Maitland City Council on 4934 9700

If your bin is stolen, then please contact your local police station or call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 to obtain an police incident number. Once Solo Resource Recovery is in receipt of this number they will issue your residence with a new recycling bin. Solo can be contacted on 4947 8511, or by fax on 4947 8512.
If your recycling bin is damaged or is not emptied on the correct day, please contact Solo Resource Recovery on 4947 8511.

If your bin is lost or stolen, please contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 to obtain a police incident number.
Bins always remain the property of Solo Resource Recovery, as such they are responsible for all repairs. Call 1800 838 884 for repairs.

Bin Collection Days

Many towns and suburbs are split into different collection zones and collection days will vary. Residents are asked to contact us on 1800 83 8884 where upon contact we will check your address on our data base to determine your next collection day.
Residents are reminded to ensure that your recycling bin is placed at the kerbside with the lid opening towards the roadway by 5.30am on the day of collection. Bins that are missed due to late placement at the kerbside will not be collected by the Contractor.
